Monday — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
What Monday is
Monday is a personal AI memory app. It records voice and text entries, learns behavioral patterns from them, and builds a living model of who you are over time. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is stored, and your rights over it.
Data we collect
- Voice recordings — audio files you record in the app. These are transcribed using Groq Whisper and then deleted from our servers. Only the transcript is stored.
- Text entries and chat messages — conversations you have with Monday.
- Behavioral patterns — inferred signals (mood, confidence, recurring topics, commitments) derived from your entries using AI analysis.
- Health data — steps, sleep, resting heart rate, and active calories, read from Android Health Connect with your explicit permission. This data stays in your personal database.
- Device push token — a unique identifier issued by Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) when you grant notification permission. We use it solely to deliver Monday's notifications to your device. The token is reset if you uninstall the app or revoke notification permissions.
How data is stored
All data is stored in a private SQLite database scoped to your account. Your data is never commingled with other users. Monday does not use your data to train AI models. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.
Data is stored on Railway infrastructure. Backups are retained for 30 days.
Push notifications
If you grant notification permission during onboarding, Monday will send you proactive notifications — morning briefs, weekly digests, streak reminders, and insights based on your entries. Push delivery uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM); your push token is sent to FCM solely to route notifications to your device.
You can disable notifications at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Monday → Notifications. Doing so does not affect any other functionality of the app.
Health data
Monday requests read-only access to Android Health Connect for: steps, sleep duration, resting heart rate, and active calories. This data is used solely to provide context to your personal AI model (e.g., noting when low sleep correlates with mood changes). It is stored only in your private database and is never shared or used for advertising.
You can revoke Health Connect permissions at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Health Connect.
Your rights
- Export — you can request a full export of your data at any time by contacting us.
- Delete — the Privacy tab in the Monday app lets you delete specific categories of data or wipe your entire account. Full deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Access — you can view all data Monday has about you in the Profile → Monday tab at any time.
Third-party services
- Groq — primary AI provider, used for both voice transcription (Whisper) and analysis/response generation (LLaMA). Audio is sent to Groq for transcription and immediately discarded by Groq after the response. Entry text is sent to Groq for AI analysis. Groq's privacy policy applies.
- Anthropic — secondary AI provider used only as a fallback when Groq is unavailable (rate limits or outages). Entry text may be sent to Anthropic in those rare cases. Anthropic's privacy policy applies.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — used to deliver push notifications. Your push token is shared with Google FCM for delivery routing only. Google's privacy policy applies.
- Expo Push Notifications service — relays our notification requests to FCM. Expo's privacy policy applies.
- Railway — infrastructure provider for backend hosting.
Children
Monday is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Continued use of Monday after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
